It is simple. There is no logic explanation for his death – that is the point. House is a about rationality, all can be explained one way or the other – this cannot. It is obvious no?

You do realize that many people are not actually answering the question. The question is why Kutner died, not why Kal Penn left the show.. The person who wrote the script could as well make House fire Kutner for some dumb reason or something, but he shot himself, again, the question is WHY? He seemed happy, satisfied, had “passions” as house said. So far I have not found a logical explanation why he would commit suicide IN THE SHOW. If you’re going to respond, please do not say he had to go to the white house.
