I haven’t watched CSI Vegas since Season 7, but I just had to catch the premiere episode of Season 9 as it is where Warrick Brown suppposedly passes away. Of all the CSI’s, the original Las Vegas series is definitely the best one, mainly because of the amazing cast of characters that was built around it. And for those who grew up watching it religiously, I’m pretty sure everyone grew to love the cast and their roles in the show.
We saw Sara leave in the past seasons and also saw quite a few close death encounters by all of the other team members, but definitely none as real, and as tragic as this one. The episode starts out very strong, as Grissom finds Warrick in an alley, bleeding to death because he was shot in his car.

After watching this episode, I am definitely downloading Season 8 because I want to know how all this came about. The team tries to find the person who killed Warrick and end up discovering some things they never knew about him. This is definitely one of the BEST CSI Vegas episodes they have ever done. Props to the team, I guess they really are great actors because I could definitely feel the pain in each and every one of their faces in the last part of the episode. It was heavy and painful, and if you’re a fan of this show and you don’t shed a tear at the end, then shame on you! A must-watch for ALL CSI fans

In the latest extravagant spending spree in the Middle East, and again in Dubai, yet another wonder has been built in the Gulf. In very close proximity to the 7-star Burj Al Arab hotel, which is the most expensive hotel in the Middle East, comes Atlantis. An £800million resort that will cost you £13,000 for a night’s stay. To put that into perspective in terms of our local currency, that is 66,362,968,405 (66 BILLION 362 million 968 thousand 405 pesos) they used to build the resort and for you to stay in their best suite for ONE night, you only need to pay a modest 1,078,389 (1 MILLION 78 thousand 389 pesos). My God.

This 113-acre resort was built on an artificial island off the Persian Gulf and officially opened for business on September 24, 2008. They say that one of the main drives they had in building such an epic structure was the move towards how tourism can help sustain their economy once regional oil profits stop flowing. So Dubai is pegging its hopes on people who are filthy rich to invest and spend their money there… wisely. He he.

But seriously, this place is a wonder in itself. The mega-resort boasts of 1,539 rooms with 17 restaurants to choose from. They also have what are called the Lost Chambers suites, where the bedrooms all have picture windows that look out through the resort’s 11m-liter lagoon filled with 65,000 specimens of marine life!
On the outside the guests have free access to Atlantis’s 42-acre Aquaventure waterpark. It is a one and a half mile river you can float in with fantastic rides topped off by the Leap of Faith, an almost straight down 90 feet vertical slide that zips you through a shark-filled lagoon in break-neck speed. The first time I saw this kind of thing was when I was back in my old company and they showed us this vertical slide in the first Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. It was going to be a perk you would get if you hit way past your sales quota. I was in awe at the first sight of it and wanted to go there SO BAD. Now I want to go here! Can I afford £230 a night though to stay in the standard suite? Yes I can, but I won’t do it!
It’s funny how I started writing this blog with three words in my head… Paradise on Earth. It would have been if it weren’t so darn expensive. It also got me thinking on whether I would actually go and pay £13,000 a night to stay in that unbelievable Lost Chambers suite that they have if I was filthy rich, but my answer would still be a NO. I’d rather spend that much on something else than throw it all away on one night staying in a room, no matter how amazing that room is. But of course, that’s just me. I would still keep hoping though, that some time in the not so distant future, my company would send me here! Ha ha. Until then, I will dream along with the pictures of this place called Atlantis for now, just like all of you will too

The 7th episode called “Five the Hard Way,” was released yesterday, but I only got to watch this right now Pretty boring for me except probably for the fact that Gretchen is officially back and is more ruthless than ever. T-Bag is up to his old tricks again and wants to exact revenge on Michael so badly, but unfortunately he needs him, so he can’t. It was also a pretty funny situation with Sucre and how he got the data to the device they use to copy the card keys. But Pad Man was stupid enough to use the device in a casino in Vegas where he was banned to ever go back to. More trouble for the team again as it just never ends. Oh, and Agent Self actually had the gall to go up to the General and threaten him, though he was stuttering like crazy, hehe. Pretty boring episode so I hope the next one gets better. The link to the 4th episode of Heroes can also be downloaded below. Have fun!

A really crappy thing happened to me on the way home from work today. While driving my usual route to the house, my car suddenly went DEAD in the middle of EDSA at around 6:15PM in the evening. I managed to swerve to the left side before everything in my car stopped working, so whew! That included the wipers, the horn, the windows, and the brakes! Considering this was the first time this has ever happened to me, I called my dad to help me out. Then I was supposed to call the car battery service company to bring a spare battery to me, but this guy suddenly pulls up in front of me and asks me if I needed help. He offered to tow my car from where I was straight to my house, which was almost an hour away! I was surprised and kept asking myself why some stranger would actually offer to tow me from a highway to my house. My friends kept telling me to be careful because he might kidnap me, ha ha! But he really did keep his word and I got to my house safe and sound, after around 45 minutes. I was very grateful and so was my dad, so we asked him to grab a quick dinner here and gave him some money for his trouble. He didn’t want to take it and said he wasn’t asking for anything and that it was also way too much… but we thought otherwise.
So, wow, there really ARE still good people out there. When I look back at what happened earlier, I still can’t believe it. When I tell my friends the story, they keep saying how WEIRD it was, and how that NEVER happens to anyone. So I guess I’m just really lucky or I probably have a guardian angel watching over me. And the fact that the world has NOT run out of good people who would help you out without asking for anything in return is always a welcome thought. So a big THANK YOU to Mr. Felix Bihag, plate number CMN 458 (unfortunately I don’t know what car this is as I know nothing about cars), for proving that there are still good people out there, and the world isn’t as bad as we think it is.

It is very rare to come across a FREE robust tool online that allows people from different parts of the world to collaborate and help each other solve problems. CrossLoop is one of the best I have come across so far. With a tag line that says “Everyone Helps,” it allows you to find someone out there who can help you solve your problems right away. All you have to do is search for the particular HELP you need, and a list of people equipped to handle your question will be laid out for you. All you need to do is point and click as to who you want to talk to There are SIX main categories to choose from with FOUR sub-categories each, as seen below. And if you can’t find the help you are looking for there, you have the option to search for it!

The concept isn’t really new, I actually used a similar tool before called LogMeIn, which allows you to simply do remote access on the computer you want to control, but nothing as comprehensive and as helpful as what CrossLoop does. CrossLoop connects you to trusted, qualified service providers and friends who can provide the support you need quickly and conveniently. Some of them are free, while some charge a fee, but it’s your choice who you want to talk to. It opens up a whole new world of collaborative possibilities as people from any level of technical expertise can now remotely collaborate with each other over the Internet. Many of the problems and frustrations associated with using computers can be solved if those who have the answer to a PC problem can quickly link to those who have the problem.
So depending on your level of understanding in the online world, everyone gets stuck with a problem from time to time and loses productivity because of it. Some may have a date with the infamous blue screen of death, while others want to eliminate annoying browser pop-ups, and others may just want to know how to change settings in their computers to make it run faster. CrossLoop allows you to do this and more. Anyone should be able to find a trusted source for the expertise that they need. And those who have the expertise to make a difference should be able to easily share their knowledge and be recognized.

You can download the application from the direct link HERE or below. Once you are done with the download, I would suggest for you to REGISTER to the site. It’s FREE, and you will have a Profile screen that shows everyone your level of expertise, as well as your reputation (in terms of those who you have helped and how they rated you), and the log of all your sessions. You can also do an online chat from the same page, and in case you are an expert in your field and choose to charge per hour for your services, you can also put that rate on the same page.
All in all, this is definitely a tool everyone should have. You can also promote yourself through a blog if you want to and if you have one, as it gives you the option to do so using specialized widgets. Have fun!

I know I’m a tad bit late but it was my fiancee’s birthday yesterday so I have an excuse because I had to do all the surprises and stuff You know the drill, hehe. And now that I’m back… I missed a big triple header the past 2 days, as House, Prison Break, and Heroes, all showed their current episodes to date. It’s one heck of a prime time schedule in the US, as there really are a ton of great series being shown every single night. But here are THREE of the better ones. I can’t do a recap for Heroes because I don’t really follow the series, but I know a lot of you do. So you’ll still see the download link for it every week. The recap for House and Prison Break will always be there though.

In the 3rd episode of House, there is no sign of Wilson anywhere It truly seems that Michael Weston might really be locked in to replace him as House’s best buddy, and after watching this episode, it really seems like it now. Fingers are still crossed that it ain’t so! House is poking at the personal lives of his team again, and this time he has Taub as his target. The episode, however, revolves around an artist who pretends he has sold a lot of his paintings to be able to keep his girlfriend with him. It speaks of the lengths guys would go through just to keep the girl that they love with them. The episode also finally focuses on Taub, as he “seems” to have the perfect life with the perfect wife. House doesn’t think so, and seems to have successfully gotten it across to him. Honestly, I was quite a bit confused as to the last scene between Taub and his wife, so I can’t wait to see the next episode to figure out what the problem exactly was. All in all a decent episode this week.

And in the 6th episode of Prison Break called “Blow Out,” the search for the next key card continues, as the team grabs it in a racetrack rather easily and moves on to find the next one. Mahone gets caught though, and gets locked up. The team desperately tries to sort itself out because they chose to leave Mahone behind for the sake of the mission. Bellick and Sucre don’t like it and feel the same would be done to them. Agent Self is now in trouble as Wyatt pays him a courtesy visit. Gretchen’s escape brings her back to her home, and the life we never knew she had. But the story in the episode is where Mahone and Wyatt finally meet and you can see how BAD Mahone wants to get this guy. Pretty decent episode, as the team gets closer to finding all the key cards. I thought for sure Mahone was done in this episode, whew!
