One more day and the long 4 day break will finally start! Perfect time to get some much needed rest from a very stressful two weeks at work
I saw this picture while I was surfing earlier…

You know how there are some images you look at once then look away? Then stop and realize that what you saw couldn’t have been right? So you look again and then you get it? This picture above, I looked at once, then looked again, and then looked yet again… and still can’t believe it. So that must mean one thing… it must not be real hehehe!

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but don’t you just hate it when you go to a page in Friendster or most blogs out there, and see a whole line of YouTube videos until the end of the page? I mean come on! That kinda defeats the purpose of doing a blog right?! But when I saw this, it just blew me away. I couldn’t help but put ONE video on my blog… so here it is…

Nerds will be nerds… but the person who did this has some mad skills! He made almost a minute and a half worth of music using only the default sounds in Windows! When I read the description, I thought “yeah right!” just like you’re doing now! But were we wrong!
And as nerdy as this guy is, he doesn’t even end the video when the music stops… he goes on to explain how he did it and what he used to do it haha! Props to Robbi!

As it turns out, I bought 320 pesos worth of lotto tickets last night, that’s 16 entries to try and win the P184,722,336.00 jackpot (that’s the exact number now) The results came out last night and the winning numbers were: 05 06 15 17 21 38

My “winning” ticket number was 06 16 20 21 35 38 which means I got 3 numbers right, and from what I know, I win something! I tried searching how much or what prize that would be for, but to no avail. That’s weird, there is no site that actually tells you how to compute if you have won 3, 4, or 5 numbers, not even the official PCSO site! In any case, will be finding out today, at least it should cover the 320 pesos I shelled out right?!

I can’t believe it’s the end of the weekend already! It’s exactly midnight right now and I wanted to finish off this review for “the Kingdom” before I go to bed. In 7 hours, I’ll be getting up again to go to work. Another 1 and a half hour drive to start the week, perfect!
What’s happened this week? Well… if you like boxing, Manny Pacquiao just won a thrilling 12 rounder to be the first Asian champion to capture 3 different weight divisions! The title he won earlier was the WBC super featherweight title belt. That was a pretty close call and a darn good fight I thought Pacquiao had conceded defeat when the scorecards were being read, because his face was in absolutely shock when he heard he had won the split decision.
Other tidbits that happened this week, well, the grand lotto in the country is quite HUGE now, I believe it’s around 150 million pesos or 3,658,536 million US dollars now because no one has won it in quite a while. Mmmm mmmm. I bought 16 lotto tickets earlier because who knows! Winning 1 million pesos is more than good enough for me, what more if you have a chance to win 150 million! Of course, the chances are pretty darn slim, but at least it’s still a chance! I will NEVER have to work again and I can sit around and buy anything and everything I want Hehe. Results are tomorrow! Let’s see!
In any case… back to my review… have a nice week ahead!

With the current influx of movies that revolve around terrorism due to 9-11, I had thought this movie to be the same old thing. Different actors, same concept, same place, evil Middle Eastern madmen plotting to disrupt the peace, then the US saviors would come in and save the day. Typical. I didn’t even want to watch this! But boy, am I glad I did.
A baseball game is being played in a compound in Riyadh, and a madman wearing a bomb blows himself up to pieces. Everyone in the area panics and starts running for cover, but other terrorists shoot away at them killing many civilians and children for no reason. The FBI hears of the tragedy and assembles an elite team led by Jamie Foxx, to find the mastermind behind the bombing. Authorities in Riyadh are very uncooperative in giving out any information to the FBI team and it isn’t until Colonel Al-Ghazi finally puts his trust in the Americans that they finally get to know what really is happening. Finally sharing the same goal and commitment to find the mastermind of the bombing, they start helping each other out. And this is where the story actually gets pretty interesting. The path as to how two unlikely allies would work together to bring down one common enemy was done very well. Thus, the inner workings of the terrorists were slowly discovered and the goal to find the mastermind behind the bombing leads to an absolutely riveting ending.
I loved how this movie was developed and I was really surprised how it turned out. It wasn’t just another movie about an elite team from the US coming down to the Middle East to kill the terrorists. The development of the trust between the two sides were a good battle to watch, and the FBI team of Foxx, Garner, Bateman, and Cooper were great.

Colonel Al-Ghazi though, played by Ashraf Barhom, was superb. He is the best character to look out for in this movie. A Saudi police man dedicated enough to his profession to have a sense of fair play, not typical for characters such as his. He initially plays a babysitter to the FBI team but ended up trusting the men he looked to want to do away with. The movie is simply able to nicely touch on the clashes in culture, religious doctrines, and the self perpetuation of hate, all of which culminates to a final half hour of riveting, vicious, blood spattering action. After watching this movie, I realized how insanely difficult it would be to ever find a madman, such as the mastermind of a bombing, in the Middle East. No wonder they haven’t found Bin Laden yet, and I doubt they ever will.
I highly recommend you go out and rent this movie, or buy it for that matter. As much as there are movies that revolve around the same concept, it’s how the movie was done that made it top notch. You could of course opt to download the 4.42 GB below as it IS High Definition. Either way, please go watch this movie, you won’t regret it

In a world run by servers., it is just natural that we all have a simple concept of what a server actually is. To the layman, and for those who aren’t really into tech stuff, a server is a hardware technology solution that “serves” file, data, print, to multiple computers, just like what runs on the back-end of this blog site. Though I don’t know what brand of server WordPress runs on, it would be typical for a company with a very large user base such as this, to have a powerful server behind it. The most popular server brands out there are Hewlett-Packard (HP), IBM, and Dell.
Assuming we all know what servers are, we are all but familiar with the typical tower servers and rack servers that abound. Companies buy these type of servers left and right, but for larger corporations that have a high demand for servers, where would you place them all? What if you have 30, 40, or more servers? Where would you put them and where would it fit?
Enter Blade Technology. What used to be just a buzzword, is now becoming a norm in every data center around the world. Blades have transformed the way the market and customers see servers. It allows you to consolidate the typical 12 plus servers that you have, and instead puts it in an enclosure/chassis that would house them! Instead of having to buy 12 separate servers, with power supplies, fans, each and every time you purchase, now you will never have to buy those parts separately again.
Welcome the servers of the future! Blades have been in the market since mid of 2000, but was never a market hit until the latter half of 2006. Customers started to embrace the new concept that allowed more than 12 servers to be housed in ONE enclosure and be able to outperform the servers the market was used to (status quo). HP and IBM have been neck-to-neck in this battle for blade supremacy, and are the undisputed front-runners of this industry. Each with its own unique advantages, and each with its own unique architecture that makes it different from the other, both HP and IBM are posing for the market to accept the product in full circle this year.
HP released a product called the c7000, as part of the c-class family for blades for enterprise customers and is capable of housing 16 blade servers! In the 4th quarter of 2007, HP also released the c3000, a smaller BladeSystem specifically built for SMB’s (small medium businesses) and was an instant hit! IBM, on the other hand, had initially released BladeCenter H, their enterprise chassis that could house up to 14 blade servers. They then followed suit with the BladeCenter S for SMB customers, and tried to release it early 4th quarter last year to match HP’s time in market, but to no avail. IBM was only able to release the actual product by mid-January, while HP had sold more than 1000 blade servers since its release late in 2007.
Though HP and IBM both tote the same concept on blade technologies, there are quite a few differences in the way both have implemented their products. I won’t go on talking about those in specific detail, as it would bore more than half the people reading this. But for the small percentage of people reading this who might have a semblance of interest in the two blade technologies, just give me a shout-out and I’d be more than willing to explain in-depth the two technologies to you.
